Kelly’s earliest memories of yoga began at just 11, quietly watching her mother during aerobics classes - never realizing how deeply those quiet moments would root themselves in her future.
In 2004, life brought her to California as a military wife, a role that would take her across continents and through transformative life experiences. During her time in college, while studying Health and Human Performance and Holistic Nutrition, Kelly suffered a serious leg injury during a ballet performance. For recovery, she was prescribed yoga.
The Mat in the Hospital Room
Even while hospitalized for months, connected to machines and tubes, she continued her yoga practice—rolling out her mat each day in her hospital room.
“I believe with all my heart,” Kelly says, “that the practice of yoga saved me from surgery and kept me mentally and physically strong.”
She completed her yoga certification with the support of a nurse and unwavering determination, an experience that marked the beginning of her lifelong commitment to this path.
Teaching Across Continents
In 2006, life moved her again—this time to Japan. There, she deepened her practice, taught on military bases across Asia, and continued serving both local and active duty communities. Returning to the U.S., she continued to teach in hospitals, universities, clinics, and gyms—bringing yoga into every corner of life.
21 Years—and Still Going
Today, Kelly is a Legacy Ambassador with Lululemon, a Faculty Educator with LifePower Yoga, and a lifelong student of Shanti Peace Yoga. From her first steps in 2004 to now—21 years later—she’s remained devoted to sharing the practice that met her in her hardest moment.
Yoga didn’t just heal Kelly. It gave her a life’s mission.
