I’m Kristýna Coufalová, a yoga, barre, and pilates teacher based between Norway and Sicily. Outside the studio, I’m a mother, a nature lover, and someone fascinated by psychology and human stories. Yoga came into my life when I felt disconnected from my body and craved safety and balance. My first class wasn’t about the shapes — it was about the silence that followed. That silence became my anchor. But the journey hasn’t been smooth. For years, I struggled with body image, feeling like I didn’t have the “right” body for yoga. I had to unlearn those beliefs. I’ve also faced burnout, pouring so much energy into others. Through it all, I kept returning to compassion, patience, and presence — the very things I now teach.
Humble Beginnings
It started simply. Just me, a mat, a space, and a few students. Teaching grew naturally, and eventually I took the leap into hosting my first retreat. It felt like a huge risk — but it worked. People weren’t just looking for classes. They wanted experiences.
Growth That Feels Aligned
Step by step, I moved from studio classes to retreats in Norway and Sicily. These retreats brought an international feel to my work. I also leaned into building a presence online — especially through Instagram and Patreon — which helped me stay connected with students globally and grow an engaged community.
Authenticity Over Approval
One of the biggest shifts came when I stopped trying to please everyone. I realized I didn’t need to be for everyone — I just needed to be real. Teaching became less about how yoga looked, and more about how it felt. That mindset shaped my business too. It’s not about numbers, it’s about connection.
Creating Safe Spaces
I’ve built everything around one mission — helping people feel at home in themselves. Whether it's through a retreat in nature, an online class, or a moment of stillness, I want people to feel seen, safe, and accepted exactly as they are.
Lessons I've Learned
Success isn’t about full rooms — it’s about real connection.
Boundaries and rest are not distractions from growth, they are growth.
You don’t need to be everyone’s teacher. Just be someone’s safe space.
You can build something beautiful from wherever you are — no perfect conditions required.
My Message to Founders
You will never feel fully ready — start anyway.
The path is not supposed to look like anyone else’s.
Stay honest. Keep it real.
And when in doubt, come back to what you know is true in your body. That’s where your business begins.
Business Takeaways from Yoga Founders Magazine
Start Small
You don’t need a studio or big following to begin — just a mat and an honest intention.
Grow Organically
Let your business evolve with you. What feels aligned now may shift, and that’s okay.
Be Human Online
Instagram isn’t just for promotion — it’s a place to connect, to tell your story, and to build real trust.
Connection First
Focus on how people feel, not just what they learn. That emotional impact is what keeps them coming back.
Boundaries = Longevity
Building something meaningful requires protecting your energy, not giving it all away.
